We are currently hiring an Outreach Assistant for a short-term position to support us in promoting our PowerBack and PREP initiatives by disseminating information and resources to high schools and police departments in New Jersey.
- Hours are 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday.
- This is a grant-funded position that runs from December 1, 2022 – August 31, 2023.
- APFC does not provide health insurance, but we do offer paid time off and paid holidays between December and August.
- Mileage is reimbursed at $.47 per mile; tolls are fully reimbursed.
You will plan and conduct outreach to high schools and teen-focused community organizations in NJ to provide information, resources, and materials on dating abuse; assist our PowerBack team at outreach events in high schools; plan and conduct outreach to police departments in NJ to promote our PREP police training program and to provide information, resources, and materials on upcoming PREP classes. This post requires connecting with contacts in-person, via phone and via email to do follow up and provide program information, so excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills are ESSENTIAL.
You must demonstrate background, education or experience in the field of dating abuse or domestic violence.
Excellent communication skills and professional presence.
This is largely a traveling position throughout NJ; you must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation.
Knowledge of MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint with strong writing skills.
Must be proactive, a problem-solver, and passionate about the issue of ending domestic violence/dating abuse.
Must be dependable and reliable.
