Dating Abuse Training & Assistance (DATA)

DATA is a new program launched in 2018 that is specifically designed for Student Assistance Counselors (SACs) in New Jersey. It is a four-hour class that addresses the epidemic of teen dating abuse in our state by providing SACs with the tools they need to safely and effectively support teen victims on campus. The goals of DATA are to:

  • Define the dynamics, types and warning signs of teen dating violence
  • Identify strategies to identify, approach and support teens (includes addressing concerns of confidentiality)
  • Understand the components of a safety plan
  • Learn how to properly document incidents on campus
  • Enhance understanding of policies and protocols that increase victim safety and hold abusers accountable
  • Identify age-appropriate resource and referral information for support

About DATA

  • Cost: DATA is free of charge to SACs (materials, certificate, and light refreshments included).
  • Registration: Class size is limited and registration is REQUIRED. Email us at DATA@APartnershipForChange.org to reserve your spot.
